A true jazz singer.
Henry L. Ettman, Ph.D.
…It has been noted that it is the singers who are today saving our precious native art form, jazz, since they have the unique ability to draw in new audiences as well as jazz aficionados through their conveying of lyrics and ability to visually “connect” with listeners. I must say that CeCe is one of the most effective communicators of jazz that I have seen in recent years. She exudes warmth and a deep love of her art that is highly contagious, and manages to convey a strong sense of self-confidence that is balanced by a disarming humility.
She displays a maturity of interpretation that is rare: the ability to respect and preserve the intent of the songwriters and their lyrics while also displaying an identifiable individual style and interpretation that is essential to being a true jazz singer.
